What do you learn in a two day Permaculture Workshop?
It is amazing how easy it is to learn how to work with Nature: By adopting a new vision and perspective of the world, you can save thousands of dollars when it comes to designing your home, garden; farm or acreage all with the use of these Principles while at the same time, healing and regenerating the environment and your community.
By observing key ecological relationships, we can mimic and apply these beneficial relationships in the design of systems that serve humans while helping to restore the natural world.
You will gain:
• Insight on how to Increase the sustainability of your home
• The ability to provide food security for your family
• Some Tools on how to regenerate your community.
In this 2 Day Introduction, we will cover the Core Permaculture Principles along with strategies and practical design tools that will enable you to adopt energy-efficient practices, water reduction and nutrient cycling that will greatly enhance the growing conditions for your garden.
Knowledge on How-To:
o Create a productive garden
o Capture rainwater and re-hydrate your soil
o Design and Build Rainwater Harvesting Systems
o Increase your garden production through Companion Planting
o Reduce weeds
o Plant and utilize Green manure crops and pulses
o Build healthy Compost
o Upcycle waste streams
Plus...we will have lots of fun with community building exercises, discussions and games.
Design Your Permaculture Garden and/or Food Forest
Sunday afternoon, we will get down to work, designing your yard. Here you will have the opportunity to apply many of the principals of design that we will have covered over the weekend.
At the end of the weekend, you will be provided with a copy of the course material along with a resource list of books, ideas, videos and podcasts to further your discovery into the world of permaculture and a healthy sustainable future.
Permaculture is a design science that is guided by ethics and inspired by nature
A forward-thinking design system based on principles found in nature. Its purpose is to create living environments that are harmonious, sustainable and productive, while greatly reducing the work and energy required to maintain them.
Class time is from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a lunch break at midday. We will be providing attendees with a delicious and nutritious lunch both Saturday and Sunday. Coffee and herbal tea is provided so be sure to bring your coffee/tea mugs.
